Earlier in May 2021, the first packages of rebranded rice have hit grocery store shelves. Uncle Ben’s Rice is now Ben’s Original Rice. An article in USA Today details the iconic brand name change, a change that was motivated by calls for racial equity following the death of George Floyd in June 2020.
