Recent years have seen an explosion of interest in the development, use, and marketing of domain names. One of the largest growing hubs for the application of this onomastic know-how is Asia. In recognition of that fact, the 2016 DOMAINFest, an international conference for business specialists in domain naming, will take place in Hong Kong from the 19th to the 22nd of September.

NamesCon, the world’s largest yearly domain-industry conference, will be holding its 2017 conference in Las Vegas from the 22nd to the 25th of January. The purpose of the four-day conference is to provide an interdisciplinary forum for domain-name professionals to learn about the latest developments in the field. Everyone from attorneys, brand managers, registrars, digital marketers, individual end-users, and web-hosting companies will be represented. From the 13th to 15th of October, an International conference on “People of the Ancient World” will be held at the Babeș-Bolyai University, Cluj-Napoca. The goal of the three-day conference is to bring together researchers whose work focuses on the Greco-Roman world. Lexicographers with a specialization in the terminology of the Iberian Peninsula may be interested in attending the 10th annual symposium of the RITerm2016, which will be held in São Paulo, Brazil from the 18th to the 21st of October 2016. From the 13th to the 15th of September, Pembroke College at the University of Cambridge will be holding its 2016 Colloquium of the Henry Sweet Society for the History of Linguistic Ideas. The Dictionary of Medieval Names from European Sources will be holding several special sessions on cross-linguistic and cross-cultural onomastics at the Leeds International Medieval Congress 2016 from the 4th to the 7th of July 2016.
